Nerikomi pendant
Hand-made porcelain heart pendant. Each unique bead is created by layering & folding multicolored porcelain until the desired effect is found.
This Japanese technique (nerikomi) was adapted by the British, and called agateware for its stone-like resemblance to agate gemstones.
It is labor intensive, but the results are always so beautiful and unpredictable, an homage to gemstones in the natural world in our hands.
